Terms of Service

1. About Us

It's Rented is a dress hire business based in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. By placing a booking through our website, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before completing your hire.

2. Hire Period

• The hire period covers your nominated event date.
• All garments must be returned the following Monday after your event.
• Pick-up is available the day before your event at your selected time.
• Late returns may incur an additional fee of one full hire period per day overdue.

3. Bookings & Payment

• Bookings are confirmed once full payment has been received via Stripe.
• Only one booking per dress per week is accepted.
• By completing payment, you confirm that all details provided (size, event date, delivery address) are correct.
• Prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event date are eligible for a full refund or store credit.
• Cancellations made within 7 days of the event date are non-refundable.
• If a dress becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we will offer a full refund or an alternative dress of equal value.
• To request a cancellation, please contact us at bethaniegwen@gmail.com as soon as possible.

5. Care of Garments

• All garments are professionally dry-cleaned before each hire.
• Hirers are responsible for the garment during the hire period.
• Minor wear (small marks that dry-clean out) is expected and covered.
• Significant damage — including tears, stains that cannot be removed, missing embellishments, or lost garments — will be charged at the full retail replacement value of the item.
• Do not attempt to wash, iron, or alter the garment yourself.

6. Delivery & Returns

• Nationwide delivery is available. Delivery timeframes are estimated and not guaranteed.
• It's Rented is not liable for delays caused by courier services.
• Return postage is the responsibility of the hirer unless otherwise agreed.
• Garments must be returned in their original garment bag.

7. Fit & Sizing

Dress sizes are listed as a guide only. We strongly recommend checking the measurements provided for each garment. It's Rented is not responsible for fit issues where the correct size was selected at the time of booking. Local try-ons are welcome — please contact us to arrange.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, It's Rented shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of our hire service, including but not limited to event cancellations, courier delays, or garment fit.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. The current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
